What I've been upto...a lock-down recap
Whew. It’s been a 2020, huh? Sad, stressful, and what seems like never-ending. I am so fortunate that thus far we are all healthy. Like most of us, I am continuing to navigate each day the best I can, while feeling like maybe I’m not doing anything really well.
So here is a look back at some of the things that went down over the past several months.
I shipped A LOT of The Motherhood of Art books out! Thank you! The trips to the post office were the only time we left the house, outside of our daily walk for weeks. It helped me feel better about a cancelled/postponed book tour and launch party. Maybe 2021?
I was so pleasantly surprised by the many paintings that sold. I hope it was people wanting to bring some color and happiness to their space since we are spending so much time in our homes.
I also decided to use the time to do some personal projects, both in the studio and at home. This was of course after, eating all the carbs, drinking all the wine and watching all the Netflix.
I finished and installed the pool painting that I started last year, I added a Luna portrait to our wall of pets in the den, and I completed the kids portraits for our stairwell. I asked the kids to paint the backgrounds for each of their paintings.
I dug out our fire pit and my husband and I then added a border and stone. I am so excited to enjoy it through the fall. I painted our nightstands, a project I have only been wanting to do for 7 years.
I did change my top and put makeup on for a few interviews and podcast.
I also made some new work, and have realized I need to re-cap my Alt-Summit trip. I will save them for another time.
Today I am back in the studio and hoping to film a new video for a website revamp. Any suggestions for that are welcome! I’m expecting my ornament supplies to arrive today and begin a prototype for a new idea.
I’ll be back soon to show that new work and share our fun photoshoot from Alt Summit. (That is when my daughter isn’t using my laptop for school!)
