A surprising revelation
There is no surprise, and you know this if you follow along on Instagram, that I have many projects going on in the studio.
My pet portrait commission are usually happening and threaded throughout my studio practice as I move between paintings in various stages of drying. This past week I completed two and other than shipping them off to their owners, I had only my personal work to focus on.
It ended up being a tough day of work that was fighting me. I've wondered before if moving from more realistic imagery (pet portraits) to my abstracted paintings, disrupted the flow. After this particular studio day I am now pondering the opposite. Perhaps the two contrasting approaches created more stimulation across the board.
I am back at the mix this coming week so I'll be testing out the theory.
